"one can make all kinds of explosives using simple household items!" - Tyler Durden - Fight Club
The bomb squad asked for alterations to be made to the script after they actually gave away the ingredents for dynamite and other things that go BOOM!
I really would leave it to the pro's though, you don't want to burn your face of for the sake of a short film. Mind you if you did they may play it on channel four and you could say "Rodregruz (however you spell it) donated his body to medical research to fund his films, but I burned my face off!!" ha ha

If you go to <a herf="http://www.weirdpier.com">Weirdpier.com</a>, click on the little anarchy button on the left you can find 'The Anarchist Cookbook' and 'The Terrorist's Handbook' which will teach you how to make just about anything from little flower bombs to smoke bombs and napalm. However you would be quite stupid if you used anything too big, and it must be rembered that if you get caught you will be arrested. And never mind blowing up yourself what about your camera?
On the question; what would an action flick be without explosions? I think that an action film needs some explosions or gunshots otherwise it would fall into another genre. But it would be wrong for you to rely on some explosions rather then a good script and storyline.
Anyway best of luck and if you do use some (small) explosions BE CAREFUL I will be pissed off if I read in the paper about some boy who got blowen up making a film.
best of luck with the film
Richard.

You don't have to buy it. On the menu on the right (After you click the I agree button) where it says the anarchist cookbook there is a little + button next to it that you click to get all the chapters and then you click on the + next to the chapters to get the 'pages'. It is quite a badly designed site though. But I recommend you use the 'Java' menu as it is a little easier.

Stay WELL clear of any cookbook/handbook shite. Most of the recipes don't work or work differently so the only thing you achieve is wasting money, injuring yourself and maybe get a criminal record. Check out the FAQ: http://burn.ucsd.edu/~mai/TEXT/aol_cookbook_faq.html
